PLACES TO DO EXERCISE IN TAIWAN

I found the most interesting part of filming a vlog was how uncomfortable I felt filming myself and maintaining eye contact and a conversation with the audience. It definitely made me appreciate the people who are on Youtube and make vlogs for a living and the amount of confidence and awareness that is required to maintain a conversation with an audience. I also realized that Vlogging is really a conversation with an audience, except it is a one sided conversation in which I must do all the talking. For my next vlog, I would like to improve my presence on camera and try to become more comfortable filming myself. Additionally,  I may try to write a script in Chinese and speak half or all of my vlog in Chinese. This could be a good challenge because it will force me to become more comfortable speaking Chinese outside of the classroom and in longer sentences. I also found the experiencing of editing and filming difficult. I have no experience with any sort of video editing so it was a trial and error experience that took up a large amount of time. Thankfully, for my second and third vlog I am now familiar with the basics of iMovie which will enable me to work more efficiently.

Thematically, for my next vlog I would like to showcase another location within Taipei where people exercise. I really like the NTNU track and would like to find another place where people gather to exercise. I think perhaps the Daan Park could be a good place or I could find a popular basketball court. I like showcasing a location because it allows me to reflect on the significance of a place and explore new parts of Taipei. I would also like to interview someone for one of my vlogs because that will enable me to more learn so much more than if I just read online or ask my classmates. An interview could also further reveal some of the differences between Taiwanese, Canadian, and American athletics. I think for my future vlogs I will highlight some of the differences I have noticed so far. I was very impressed by the NTSU facilities and the size of the university there. I wish I had filmed at the NTSU, because that would’ve been a perfect place to interview someone my age about sports.
