I especially enjoyed experiencing 热炒, rechao, which is hot food that is fast to make.
The atmosphere is chaotic. It’s loud and there is food floating around everywhere.

This program provided me with a new understanding of my own Chinese heritage as well as a deeper understanding of the culture and society that is the cornerstone of my major.
This summer program gave me a really important opportunity to rebuild myself.
During the course of this summer program, I had the amazing opportunity to be in an environment that encouraged exploration in every aspect of the word- exploration of a culture, of a language, of nature, and of anything new.
I not only learned more about how to live in Taiwan, but also get to know more Taiwanese culture.

Participating in the “Learning Chinese in a Living Classroom in Taiwan” program has been a very rewarding experience. In addition to providing me with the opportunity to significantly improve my Mandarin skills, I have also gotten to experience Taiwanese culture and practice my Mandarin with many locals, taxi drivers, shop and restaurant owners and many more.
