ABOUT ME
My name is Phoebe Autio, I am a 3rd year UBC student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and a Masters in Business Management. I am also studying Chinese and have just completed an overseas intensive program in Taiwan. I look forward to furthering my Chinese studies in the upcoming years and hope to incorporate it into my future endeavors.
你们好！我姓欧，我叫小月。我是美国人，我住在Montana. 我现在在UBC学习。UBC是加拿大的大学。我很喜欢UBC。在UBC我是地理和经济系的学生。
WHAT THIS PROGRAM BROUGHT ME
This summer program allowed me the opportunity to focus all of my efforts on learning Chinese. We were able to complete a years worth of subject matter within six weeks. I was also able to interact with and learn from local Taiwanese people. I learned a lot about local cuisine, culture, and history. I was also able to meet many lifelong friends within my program and am excited to continue learning Chinese with them in Canada.
我觉得暑期班的时候我学到了很多的东西。第一个，我学到了很多的中文。我觉得我的中文生词语法越来越好。再说，我学到了很多中国的文化和历史。在台北我也认识了很多的好朋友。我很期待下个学期跟他们一起学习中文。

This vlog page will highlight some of my presentations and projects that were completed during our program. These projects were done in addition to all of the in class vocabulary and grammar drilling and we frequently traveled short distances to interview people.

EXPLORING TAIWAN
Practicum Day
For my practicum day, my group and I took a high speed train all the way from Taipei to the South side of Taiwan. We wanted to look for famous beaches to surf as well as fun night markets and good food. We went to Kenting, one of the most Southern cities, and stayed at a hostel nearby. We met a lot of people at our hostel and at the beaches we visited. It was also really interesting traveling down the entire Western coast while passing through other major cities.
我在台湾旅行的时候去了垦丁。我跟我朋友坐火车去垦丁。在垦丁我们冲浪，还吃很多好吃的东西。我觉得垦丁不但很好玩，而且很漂亮。坐火车的时候我们看到了很多的城市。我会推荐你们也去垦丁旅行。
