ABOUT ME
我在UBC升二年级的大学生！我要成是历史和英文老师- 我觉得历史和英文很有意思! 我在UBC 也学中文。I love a lot of basic university student things, including coffee, dogs, traveling, and getting more than seven hours of sleep. 我也爱音乐! I love listening to music but I also love playing it in whatever way I can- whether that be with my friends on the weekend or alone in my room at 4:00pm on a Monday.
我小的时候住在很多的国家-我除了在加拿大注以外，还在中国和马来西亚住。Moving around a lot as a kid allowed me to experience a lot more of the world than I could really ever have hoped for at that age, and I can say it is definitely the single most impactful thing in my life. It is actually one of the main reasons I wanted to study Mandarin in university, and definitely one of the main reasons I never want to stop traveling and learning! 我觉得什么国家都很有意思，所以什么国家我都想去!
WHAT THIS PROGRAM BROUGHT ME
During the course of this summer program, I had the amazing opportunity to be in an environment that encouraged exploration in every aspect of the word- exploration of a culture, of a language, of nature, and of anything new. 当然我的中文现在比来台湾以前好多了， and the fact that my Mandarin has improved is so exciting to me, but this program offers so much more than that! I got to try food that I’ve never had before, learn about an interesting political climate, figure out how to manage time in the most effective way for me, and experience a completely new way of life. 我也认识很多的很甜美的人- 我的同学们和我的老师们都很甜美。跟他们上中文课，也旅行让我很高兴。This summer program wasn’t a breeze- 我们的功课多多的，难难的- but it feels good to know that I didn’t just survive, but I left with fantastic memories, a much greater understanding of Taiwan culture, better language skills, AND my sanity (all of which I am extremely thankful for).

So. You’ve made it here. Obviously you’re here because you’re interested in Taiwanese politics. 我觉得台湾的政治非常有意思-我希望你同意。My vlog(s) give a brief look into how the political system in Taiwan functions, as well as past and present political issues. 台湾的政治很特别。Taiwan always has, and continues to have, a fairly difficult time politically. 我觉得你看我的录影以后知道为什么台湾的政治有很多的课题。
EXPLORING TAIWAN
Practicum Day
For my practicum weekend, me and four other classmates (of whom I would now call good friends) went to Hualien, a province just south of Yilan, which is just south of Taipei. 在花莲，我跟我的同学们去Taroko 国家公园。我觉得Taroko 是台湾最漂亮的地方。I have to say, Taroko National Park could quite possibly be the most beautiful place I have ever seen. We walked along beautiful trails next to brilliant blue rivers, swam in a cool mountain stream, saw temples tucked away on the side of a mountain, went through caves with water pouring down from the roof… and more. We also got to interact with so many more Taiwanese people, and they were all so kind. 他们都很喜欢跟外国人聊天，所以我们常常练习说中文。I loved every part of Hualien and would go back in a heartbeat.
